Voicemail is a service that lets a user retrieve the voice mails. The voice mails can also be managed using this service. Once this service is set up, the user will never lose an important voice message. There are a number of ways of accessing the voicemail service on the phone. The numbers provided to access the voicemail may vary from provider to provider.
Some of the methods of accessing the voicemail are-

Calling *VM
Dialling *89 on the phone can connect to the voicemail service. This method is used by Verizon and many other carriers.

Calling *99
This is another dialling number which can connect you to the voicemail services. This method is used by carriers like XFINITY, Comcast, etc.

Calling *98
This number can be dialled to connect to voicemail services if you are using AT&T home phones.
Another method of connecting using AT&T home phones is by dialling (888) 288-8893.

There are certain phones that use the number 1 as their voicemail number.
Try to press and hold the 1 button and this will directly connect you to your voicemail services.

Some landline phones have a separate button dedicated for calling their voicemail services.
Just pressing this button will automatically connect to the voicemail services.

In certain phones, there is a preinstalled voicemail application, especially android phones.
Such apps are designed for the phone itself and hence there is no need to sign in in such applications. These apps provide a number of benefits like listening to messages in any order, creating a custom greeting, even read messages as text transcriptions and many more.

Voicemail service can also be accessed by calling from another phone.
This can be done by dialling your phone number from any other phone and when the greeting begins, press #. The machine will ask for your PIN and after entering the pin, your voicemail can be accessed.
These are some of the methods that can be used to access the voicemail service. But do remember that these are not all the methods and different phones may have some different methods to access the voicemail. There are some phones these days that don?t even have this option.
In the pre-installed voicemail application service, it is necessary to have internet connection otherwise the application will not work.
It should also be noted that if you are using the voicemail service for very first time, you need to create a PIN. This PIN can be created by following the instructions which are recorded on the phone.
